"If they aren't stimulated or don’t have the right environment around them, it can be really difficult. “It can be difficult for parents to bring their children for a haircut," Maryeve says. Having two children of her own, she knows how to interact with them and make them feel secure and comfortable most of the time. She is a perfectionist and never stops educating herself, as she's always following the latest trends. She was sent out to different cities to get special education from the best in the business. She opened her own hair salon at a really young age, worked on stage for Wella and Matrix to teach new haircut techniques, and gave color training at major conventions. She won a state gold medal for haircut and color, defeating more than 100 senior hairstylists and won her second gold medal for the country. Her journey as hairstylist started more than 20 years ago at a Vidal Sassoon academy, where she was encouraged to pursue her studies by the head of the academy. She thought it could be amazing for little children and parents to have access to a kids hair salon close to them. She has two kids of her own who are 3 and 6 years old, and she knows how particular and unpredictable kids can be. She started Sky’s salon when she realized that there was no friendly kids' hair salon in the Mooresville area or within a close radius. Maryeve is the owner of Sky’s Cuts for Kids.
